About NJH

After moving away from home for the first time in 2015, I was living alone and totally lost in my kitchen. I would have done anything to get a plate of Mom's Kibbeh, or Lebanese Spinach & Rice.

Anything made with her hands really.

Multiple video calls and visits from the mother taught me how to make a few things, and I got hooked from there. I loved the process of experimenting, failing, and making something that reminded me of home. I loved connecting with my mom, family, and friends through food.
What I did realize through the process is that people did not know much about Middle Eastern cuisine except the typical Hummus, Falafel and Baba Ganoush. 

I was on a mission to introduce people to the foods from home, and that's when Not Just Hummus was born.
